I've been noticing a pattern of God immediately giving new orders after the previous command was complete- in 3, The Lord spoke immediately after Joshua commanded the people to consecrate themselves (v7). Again in 4:2 The Lord spoke immediately after Israel's obedience in crossing the Jordan by giving a new command in laying the memorial stones. Again in ch5 after the circumcision The Lord spoke again. To me this speaks of God being pleased with obedience, and the reward may not always be gold and riches, but further communion with God. Thoughts?
4:9 Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan in the very place where the priests carrying the ark of the covenant stood. They remain there to this very day.
Do they still remain there today? Someone do some research and see if they are still there. Post the link!
Compare Exodus 14:26-31 and Joshua 3-4:14
Exodus 14:31 When Israel saw the great power that the Lord had exercised over the Egyptians, they feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in his servant Moses.
Joshua 4:14 That day the Lord brought honor to Joshua before all Israel. They respected him all his life, just as they had respected Moses.
Compare both these events and find all the similarities. There are quite a few...
Anything in Joshua chapter 3 and 4 disagree with what this guy is saying?
